LOGIS DU PRIEUR

The 15th century dwelling is accessed through a small vaulted porch, decorated with the coat of arms of the Abbey of Fécamp.

On the ground floor of the building to the right of the coat of arms is a vaulted room that served as a kitchen and refectory for the monks. Later it was the farmer's kitchen general (1674-1789), before becoming the kitchen and refectory students from 1929 to 1974.

The coat of arms of the Abbey of Fécamp is described as follows: "D'argent with six branches of laurel of sinope [green], the stems passed in saltire and miters Or, lined Gules [red, debruised on the whole".

The three miters represent the three abbeys that depended on Fécamp Abbey: Saint Taurin d’Évreux, Notre-Dame de Bernay and Saint-Berthe de Blangy.

At the top of the prior's tower is the prior's bedroom, a small square room, also called the "chamber of paradise".

On accède au logis du XVème siècle par un petit porche voûté, orné du blason de l’abbaye de Fécamp.

Au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment situé à droite du blason se trouve une pièce voûtée qui servait de cuisine et de réfectoire pour les moines. Plus tard, ce fut la cuisine du fermier général (1674-1789), avant de devenir la cuisine et le réfectoire des élèves de 1929 à 1974.

Le blason de l’abbaye de Fécamp se décrit ainsi : « D’argent à six branches de laurier de sinope [vert], les tiges passées en sautoir et mitres d’or, doublées de gueules [rouge, brochantes sur le tout ».

Les trois mitres représentent les trois abbayes qui dépendaient de l’abbaye de Fécamp : Saint Taurin d’Évreux, Notre-Dame de Bernay et Sainte-Berthe de Blangy.

Au sommet de la tour du prieur se trouve la chambre du prieur, petite pièce carrée, appelée aussi la « chambre du paradis ».
