Tag TT 40

This tag was probably made by a British soldier whose duty was to indicate the General Quarters (the code for the GQ being 40) to the soldiers of the Northumbrian. The two Ts and the H that are thus made indicate the names of the rivers Tyne, Tees and Humber, the sector where the soldiers of the 50th Division of the British Infantry were recruited.
