As soon as June 6th, 1944, Bayeux was ready to receive many victims of the bombings. The seminary was turned into a military hospital, the Robert Lion hospital, a tribute to the doctor of the Captain of the Kieffer commando killed on June 6th, 1944 on Juno beach. Many victims among the civilians and the soldiers were cured there by a military medical team, by French volunteers of the MMLA (Military Mission of the Administrative Link) and many volunteers.

Bayeux Hôpital
Dès le 6 juin 1944, Bayeux se prépare à accueillir de nombreux blessés liés aux bombardements. Le séminaire est reconverti en hôpital militaire, l'hôpital Robert Lion, en hommage au médecin Capitaine du commando Kieffer tué le 6 juin 1944 sur la plage de Ouistreham. De nombreuses victimes civiles y sont soignées par une équipe médicale militaire, par les volontaires françaises de la MMLA (Mission Militaire de Liaison Administrative) et de nombreux bénévoles.
